SME4SMARTCITIES aims to make transport more efficient
Intermodality in the city is an increasingly relevant issue in today’s world. Cities are looking for solutions to improve mobility, reduce traffic congestion and pollution, and make transport more efficient. The SME4SMARTCITIES project is an example of how intermodality can be an effective solution to these challenges.
Intermodality refers to the ability of people to use different modes of transport to reach their final destination. This is where the SME4SMARTCITIES pilot project of the city of Malaga (Spain), “Quick”, which proposes the creation of an infrastructure for the parking and disinfection of electric scooters, comes into play. One of the recent mobility problems in the city of Malaga has been the storage of the growing number of electric scooters. In addition to the logistical service, “Quick” places value on the promotion of intermodality as it would allow the integration of a new means of regulated transport into the city’s current offer.
