SMEs and city representatives exchange views and opinions on the topic of Smart Cities in the SME4SMARTCITIES online webinars
On the 30th of June and the 7th of July 2022, two online webinars were organised within the framework of the Training Programme of the SME4SMARTCITIES project, joining together and strengthening the collaboration among different actors from the project territories.
The first webinar on the 30th of June, “Lesson Learnt by Smart Cities. What do they need now?”, was mainly addressing Mediterranean technological and innovative SMEs interested in the Smart City market. The specific topics tackled were:
– Mediterranean cities’ needs, the main social, economic & environmental features
– Specific capacity-building requirements of cities for smart city sectors
– Bridging the gap between cities’ needs and smart solutions
– Local SMEs’ main characteristics, production capacity & skills
– Municipal Innovation zones’ role & best practice
– The role of larger more experienced cities in providing support to smaller cities
The webinar on the 7th of July “New Smart City Solutions for a Digital, Green and Sustainable Future”, was mainly addressing Mediterranean cities’ representatives. Some of the topics tackled in this case were:
– The role of smart city solutions as part of post-covid city recovery
– Green & innovation procurement
– Building capacity & understanding of technologies in municipalities
– Leadership of cities for green innovation
– SDG advancement in cities through smart innovation
– The Smart City Cluster approach to city collaboration
– Linking Mediterranean cities’ needs with smart city solutions
